Estate weddings stack multiple mini-venues — getting-ready suite, ceremony lawn, dinner tent, dancefloor barn — into one property. The playbook is time management. Every 30 minutes of transit between spaces is a shot lost. Scout the layout the day before.

Conditions

What the venue actually gives you.

Lighting
Every space is different. Plan gear swaps between them: fast prime for the getting-ready room, ND for the lawn ceremony, LED panel for the tent.
Movement
Wide, but distance between spaces (200m+ some estates) matters. Golf carts help.
Audio
Same wireless kit follows you through the property. Mic'ing has to survive the walk between locations.
Timing
10–12 hour day. Longest wedding day of any venue type.

Transit time between spaces

Ask for the estate map and shot-list against the timeline. Every walk over 5 minutes eats another moment.

Battery + card management

You'll shoot more footage than any other venue type. Carry 6+ cards and 6+ batteries.

How many cameras do I need for a private estate wedding?

Two, minimum. Solo creators can technically do it on one camera + a DJI Osmo Pocket 3 as a second body, but the timeline is long enough that a battery or card failure on a single-camera day is a real risk.
